Coolpedals @ Holiday Inn Express, Colchester

Here's a really smart but frugal way to enjoy two or three days' cycling through glorious Constable Country scenery! Colchester's 99 bedroom Holiday Inn Express opened towards the end of 2011. It's located right on the northern edge of Colchester, offering clean and modern accommodation with easy cycling access to historic Dedham (2 miles away) and the whole of Constable Country.

The hotel offers a generous buffet style breakfast each morning. For evening dining, choose between the in-house restaurant, a lovely cosy village pub (The Shepherd, 1.2 miles away in Langham), or a choice of restaurants/pubs in Dedham (a 2.5 mile taxi ride away).

The hotel offers an excellent practical base from which to explore the beautiful rural countryside of Dedham Vale AONB and a string of lovely historic villages (Dedham, East Bergholt, Stratford St Mary, Langham, Nayland, Stoke by Nayland, Higham, Hadleigh and Kersey) which are spread along three local rural river valleys (Stour, Brett, Box).

Choose from our short break packages which include:
